Also review handling requirements. Batteries, capacitors, oils, hazardous residue, and heavy equipment may require special packaging or shipping procedures. A low-margin sale can become expensive if freight damage, export paperwork, or improper packing was not considered before the item leaves your facility.

Price for the Actual Market, Not the Original Purchase Order

The original cost of an industrial component is useful for accounting, but it is rarely the right basis for resale pricing. Demand, availability, condition, and urgency determine what a part can sell for. A five-year-old PLC module may have little value if it remains widely available through standard distribution. A 15-year-old obsolete module can command strong demand if plants still rely on it and replacements are scarce.

Look at the full identification of each part before deciding its value. A common base model may be inexpensive, while a specific revision, option card, or communication module has limited supply. Likewise, a complete hydraulic assembly may be harder to sell than its identifiable valves, pumps, or actuators sold separately.

Pricing also depends on how quickly you need the inventory gone. If storage space is the priority, a lot sale may be the best result even if the unit price is lower. A dependable two-day handling commitment is better than an aggressive promise that creates a missed deadline.

Packaging deserves the same attention as the listing. Use anti-static protection for sensitive electronics, protect terminals and shafts, immobilize heavy components, and label cartons with the part number.
