يُستخدم مفتاح ROBA®-multiswitch للتشغيل عند جهد إدخال بين 100 و 500 فولت تيار متردد، حسب الحجم. بعد التشغيل، يصدر جهد الجسر المقوم لمدة 50 مللي ثانية ثم يضبط تلقائيًا على جهد إثارة زائدة مبرمج مسبقًا. بعد انتهاء وقت الإثارة الزائدة، ينظم إلى جهد الاحتفاظ المبرمج بشكل دائم. لقيم جهد الإثارة الزائدة وجهد الاحتفاظ في التصميم القياسي. في التصاميم الخاصة، قد تكون القيم مختلفة. يمكن ضبط وقت الإثارة الزائدة عبر مفتاح DIP إلى 150 مللي ثانية، 450 مللي ثانية، 1 ثانية، 1.5 ثانية، و 2 ثانية.
