aXlink100 forbinder Ethernet og PROFIBUS ved hjælp af Xlink, det realtids Ethernet-protokol udviklet af AutomationX. aXlink100 har to Ethernet-interfaces, en 8P8C (RJ45) eller en FIC, og et PROFIBUS DP Master Interface—ideel hardware til din PROFIBUS decentraliserede periferi.
En række systemog netværkskonfigurationer er mulige med disse interfaces. Med denne enhed kan en elektrisk ring oprettes via CAT5-kabler, eller en netværksredundans og/eller en serverredundans kan oprettes i et stjernet netværk med switches. Med Ethernet-interfacet kan op til 16 PROFIBUS Master (aXlink100) forbindes til automationX af op til 124 PROFIBUS-DP Slaves hver.
