Der X20 CP 1583 ist der Einstiegs-Atom-basierte X20-Controller. Selbst der kleinste Controller ist mit 128 MB DDR2 SDRAM ausgestattet. Mit einem optimalen Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis verfügt er über die gleichen Funktionen wie alle größeren Controller.
USB, Ethernet, POWERLINK und herausnehmbare CompactFlash sind alle als Standardfunktionen enthalten. Die Standard-Ethernet-Schnittstelle kann Kommunikation im Gigabit-Bereich bewältigen. Für noch mehr Echtzeit-Netzwerkleistung unterstützt die integrierte POWERLINK-Schnittstelle den Poll-Response-Chaining-Modus (PRC).
Der Controller ist mit einem Steckplatz für X20-Kommunikationsmodule ausgestattet. Verschiedene Busund Netzwerksysteme können durch den Einsatz von Kommunikationsmodulen problemlos in das X20-System integriert werden.
