کابل مبدل FTDI USB به RS485 سریال UART شامل آیسی رابط USB به سریال UART مدل FT232RQ از شرکت FTDI است که تمام سیگنالها و پروتکلهای USB را مدیریت میکند. این کابل مبدل FTDI راهی سریع و ساده برای اتصال دستگاههایی با رابط RS485 به USB فراهم میکند. هر کابل USB-RS485 از FTDI شامل یک برد مدار الکترونیکی کوچک داخلی است که از FT232R استفاده میکند و در انتهای کانکتور USB کابل محصور شده است. الکترونیک یکپارچه همچنین شامل ترانسیور RS485 به همراه LEDهای Tx و Rx است که نشانگر بصری ترافیک روی کابل میباشند.
