X20 CP 1583 הוא בקר X20 המבוסס על Atom ברמת הכניסה. גם הבקר הקטן ביותר מצויד ב-128 MB DDR2 SDRAM. בזכות יחס מחיר/ביצועים מיטבי, הוא כולל את אותן תכונות כמו כל הבקרים הגדולים יותר.

USB, Ethernet, POWERLINK ו-CompactFlash נשלף כלולים כולם כתכונות סטנדרטיות. ממשק ה-Ethernet הסטנדרטי מסוגל לטפל בתקשורת בקצב של גיגה-ביט. לביצועים טובים עוד יותר של רשת בזמן אמת, ממשק ה-POWERLINK המובנה תומך במצב שרשור תגובות לסריקה (PRC).

הבקר מצויד בחריץ אחד הזמין למודולי תקשורת X20. ניתן לשלב בקלות מערכות אוטובוס ורשת שונות במערכת X20 באמצעות מודולי תקשורת.
