ה-NI‑9482 מתחבר ישירות למגוון רחב של התקנים תעשייתיים, כגון מנועים, מפעילים והתקני DC. כל ערוץ מספק גישה לממסר אלקטרומכני למיתוג אותות של עד 60 VDC (1 A) או 250 Vrms (1.5 A), כולל בידוד בין ערוצים ונורית LED המציינת את המצב. דירוג העמידות בפני זעזועים ורעידות של ה-NI‑9482 מוגבל בהשוואה למודולי CompactDAQ ו-CompactRIO אחרים, בשל הממסרים המכניים שבמודול.
